BaSHi

Hajo gave a talk on hacking home appliances at the 39C3. That inspired BaSHi — a simple, isolated, bidirectional D-Bus adapter for tinkering with D-Bus-equipped home appliances (e.g. washing machines).

It comes in two PCB variants (SM-1 and ZERO-1) depending on which ESP32 board you want to use, and can run isolated from the appliance (USB-powered, for development) or non-isolated (powered by the appliance itself, for standalone use).

Warning: household appliances carry high voltages and currents, and low-voltage-looking parts may not be isolated from earth. Take appropriate safety measures.
